Grow Native! Workshop: Habitat Container Gardening

May 5, 2018 @ 11:00AM — 1:00PM

Be an Eco-hero! Learn how to garden with Native Plants on your patio or balcony using containers! Join us for a FREE lecture or pay the material fee to get hands on learning and take home a potted plant!

There are currently no tickets available for this event, but you can still make a donation.

You don't need a yard to make a habitat garden! Learn how to support birds, butterflies, native bees, and other pollinators through container gardening with native plants. Bring a favorite container to the class or use one of ours and plant it with a California native. Buckwheat, lilac, sage... there's so much to choose from! Southern California is a biodiversity hotspot -- a place of remarkable plant and animal species threatened by habitat loss. You can help the nature of Southern California by planting a native container garden!

Lisa Novick is the Director of Outreach for the Theodore Payne Foundation for Wild Flowers & Native Plants. She is a member of Mayor Garcetti's Urban Ecosystem Working Group, and blogs about sustainability issues for the Huffington Post.
