Ballona Discovery Nature Camp is a science-based day camp focusing on nature in our urban environment. Our camp encourages children to "Explore Ballona!" by engaging them in fun and educational activities from identifying plants and animals to engaging in environmental stewardship projects and more. Along with the adventure and fun, many of our educational activities meet California curriculum standards.
Camp Details:
- Each session is one week long, Monday to Friday, 9am-3pm
- For ages 8-11
- $300 per week

April 15 - 19, 2019: Summit to the Sea sends campers on a journey from the top of our local watershed to the bottom. As they seek the path of water they'll discover the wildlands, wildlife and wild ways humans are connected to it all.
June 17 - 21, 2019: Superheroes of Nature illuminates both the amazing adaptations of local wildlife and the professions that help protect them. While discovering the "superpowers" of plants and animals, campers will find they too have the power to create positive change in nature.
June 24 - 28, 2019: Nature Skills challenges campers to learn the skills used while exploring nature. From binocular and compass use to tracking animals, we'll cover it all. Your camper will come home confident and excited to explore nature.
July 8 - 12, 2019: Going WILD allows campers to discover the wildlife of the wetlands and within our urban environment. Through extensive exploration, projects and environmental stewardship, your camper will see the world around them with new eyes.
July 15 - 19, 2019: Wondrous Water will send campers on an exciting exploration of water and how it connects everything from wetlands to oceans to your water bottle. Campers will understand the importance of water, but caution, they might get wet!
